Hit the road, Jack! Err, Bev and Kyle...

This past Saturday I had the privilege of hosting a couples' wedding shower for my baby sister, Bev and her husband-to-be, Kyle.  It's quite possible they are the cutest and most loving couple in the history of the world.

Couple of the year
There is also a strong possibility they are one of the quirkiest.  From the way they met to their proposal to the plans they have for their upcoming wedding and honeymoon they have broken the mold and done things their way. Since they are not your average couple, an average shower just wouldn't do. No sir-e-Bob. So, I took it upon myself to throw one helluva shower in their honor. Check out the details below...

I mean, really? Could they get cuter?

WHO: Hosted by me, and The Vintage Dish (which also happens to be me) for Bev and Kyle.

WHAT: Road trip themed couples' shower (B & K are road tripping it to New Mexico for their honeymoon.)

WHEN:  Saturday, April 14th

WHERE: The Garage (Road trip. Garage... get it?) at Spoon's Cafe on The Square in McKinney.

WHY: To celebrate my 2 favorite love birds!

HOW:   Food, drink, decor, family, friends and fun!

I made them a "city limits" sign with
their last name and wedding date.
I think they are going to use this ribbon banner on their get-away car...

"Holland" plate and veggie tray for our Dutch babies. Missed you Liz and E!

DISHES!
 CHEERS Bev and Kyle!

The Swoon...

I can't believe 2 weeks have passed since The Swoon Event! It was a total blast and I couldn't have asked for a better first bridal market experience.  The quests were fabulous and the other vendors were all super talented, friendly and most importantly really supportive. TVD made a ton of new friends! (More on that to come.)

Since this was my first attempt at creating a booth for a bridal show I didn't know what to expect but I think it turned out beautifully! My boy was the perfect assistant. He even helped a number of other vendors carry supplies in from their cars. He was kind of every one's boyfriend that afternoon... he came home with me though.

My dear friend, Emily with Panini Bakery and Jam Jar Sweets made a gorgeous French blue "dummy" cake for my display. The girl is an angel rock star baking machine!

What a dork!

Next time TVD will really step it up. I'm thinking pyrotechnics and acrobats.
